I've just had the pleasure of speaking to a lovely man, Mr Randell, who had some dual stair lifts installed last week at his home in Portsmouth.
Having a dual lift fitted, is instead of a curved lift, but at a fraction of the price as the rail does not have to be custom made. This is only possible if the user is able to transfer between stair lifts safely on the platform, this is assessed at survey stage.
Mr Randall told me he is 94 and really struggled with the stairs due to osteo arthritis and water retention in his legs. Every time he reached the top he was "out of breath" and his "heart was racing". He had looked at Acorn and Stannah and exclaimed their prices were "ridiculous!"
He told me that hes absolutely over the moon with his new lifts, he can just whizz up and down the stairs whenever he likes, with no problems. Our lovely engineer Mark who fitted the stair lifts was described as "very polite" and "made no mess".
It's lovely to hear! A big thank you to Mr Randall for allowing me to publish his story and photo.
